Legislator Jon Cooper was proud to officiate at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the fifth annual Long Island Senior Games. Helping him cut the ribbon was Don Burke, Managing Partner of the Outback Steakhouse in Commack, which donates food for the annual volunteer luncheon as well as a barbecue for all athletes. They were joined by members of the Board of Directors for the event. The ribbon was held by Eleanor Scott, Founder and Executive Director of the Long Island Senior Games, and Tom Greene, Director of Event Coordination. The games take place at Suffolk Community Colleges Western Campus in Brentwood. They are open to anyone aged 50 and older who would like to participate in events ranging from martial arts, running, softball and swimming to horseshoes, shuffleboard and bocce.
