Legislator Jon Cooper attended a New York State Senate public hearing, held at Amityville High School, to testify in support of proposed legislation that would ban the sale statewide of dietary supplements containing ephedra. The chief sponsor of the bill is State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr., who is chairman of the Senate Committee on Consumer Protection. The state legislation is similar to the landmark bill that Legislator Cooper authored for Suffolk County.
