Legislator Jon Cooper presented proclamations to thirteen Cold Spring Harbor High School students who donated at least 10 inches of their hair to Locks of Love, a non-profit organization that provides high-quality hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss. The volunteer effort was coordinated by a teacher at the school, Kathleen Fristensky. In addition to the thirteen girls who generously donated their hair, nearly 200 other students helped to raise over $4,200, more than covering the entire production cost of one wig.
