Legislator Jon Cooper joined representatives of the New York Public Interest Research Group and the Long Island Neighborhood Network at a press conference where they called upon federal and state lawmakers to enact regulations to reduce emissions of power plant pollutants. They were responding to a new report that found that 75% of New York States oldest and dirtiest power plants are getting dirtier from soot-forming pollution. This helps fuel global warming and causes serious health problems for New York residents.
