Legislator Jon Cooper addressed a special meeting of Huntington’s Gang Prevention Task Force; announcing that he has secured a $100; 000 county grant for the new Community And Schools Together (CAST) gang prevention program. This innovative program will target at-risk students; grades 5 - 9; providing them and their families with one-on-one services including counseling; advocacy; resource referrals; parenting workshops; career and education counseling; tutoring and homework help. Joining Legislator Cooper were Huntington Supervisor Frank Petrone; State Senator Carl Marcellino and Assemblyman James Conte.
