Legislator Jon Cooper spoke at a ceremony at the Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum in Centerport, where he congratulated the museum trustees, staff and volunteers on the institution’s recent accreditation by the American Association of Museums. Only about 5% of the 16,000 museums nationwide meet the high standards of quality required to receive this prestigious recognition.
