Legislator Jon Cooper held a press conference at the County Legislature in Hauppauge to announce the unanimous passage of his resolution prohibiting all registered sex offenders from residing within one-quarter mile of any school, daycare center or playground in Suffolk County. He was joined by Laura Ahearn, Executive Director of Parents for Megan's Law, as well as eight of his legislative colleagues.
